I like to hide the ribbon while working on spreadsheets kinda quirky but it is what it is. So, when I am in a cell and want to do something, instead of going to the ribbon, the floating menu is right there and I can choose the action I want to take.

If you right-click when you are "in a cell" you might see a context menu.
